George was born in 1859 in Whim Holes, Victoria.  George's father was William AMOR and his mother was Ann Priscilla WHEELER.  His paternal grandparents were George AMOR and Unknown; his maternal grandparents were John WHEELER and Ruth WHEELER. He had five brothers and five sisters, named William Jnr, Fredrick, George, Robert, Henry, Elizabeth, Ellen, Anne, Rebecca and Martha.  He was the second oldest of the eleven children.  He died at the age of 1 in 1860.
