Carl was born in 1905 in Gordon, Victoria, Australia. Carl's father was Paul Eugene GUNSSER and his mother was Sarah Ann PALMER. His maternal grandparents were George PALMER and Charlotte VENVILL. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Paul, Louis, Edwin, Pauline, Emma, Alma and Esther. Carl and Emma were twins. He died in an accident or as a result of an injury at the age of 25 on May 31st, 1930 in Lara. He was buried in Presbyterian Section, Row I, Plot 25, Warringal Cemetary, Heidelberg, VIC.
