Edward was born on February 16th, 1926 in Echuca, Victoria, Australia and his christening was conducted by Methodist.  Edward's father was Rayner Henry KEMP and his mother was Martha Alice MITCHELL.  His paternal grandparents were Edward Skey KEMP and Eliza LEATHART; his maternal grandparents were John MITCHELL and Ellen AMOR.  He had two sisters named Nancy and Rayner.  He was the second oldest of the three children.  He died from a heart attack at the age of 52 on January 15th, 1979 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.  His burial was on January 19th, 1979 in Templestowe Lawn Cemetery (McGahy lawn E20).
