Edward was born in 1836 in Gravesend , Kent, England. Edward's father was Joseph KEMP and his mother was Esther (Amelia) SKEY. His paternal grandparents were John KEMP and Unknown. He had three brothers and three sisters, named John, Edward, William, Esther, Mary and Amelia. He was the youngest of the seven children. He died at the age of 68 on March 22nd, 1904 in Echuca, Victoria, Australia. His burial was in Echuca Cemetery, Australia.
