Eliza was born on February 27th, 1851 in Auckland, New Zealand. Eliza's father was Francis Owen LEATHART and her mother was Harriet Courtis BOURNE. Her paternal grandparents were Joseph LEATHART and Maria DAVIS; her maternal grandparents were William BOURNE and Catharine LEATHART. She had three brothers and six sisters, named Henry, Albert, Francis Jnr, Mary, Ada, Alicia, Laura, Frances and Harriet. She died at the age of 89 on October 2nd, 1940 in Elmwood, VIC. She was buried in Echuca Cemetery, Australia.
