John LEATHART

John was born on February 18th, 1759 in Haltwhistle, Northumberland. John's father was John LEATHART and his mother was Elisabeth ELLIOT. His paternal grandparents were Cuthbert LEATHART and Margaret LEATHART. He had eight brothers and five sisters, named Cuthbert, Thomas, James, William, Joseph, George, Robert, Edward, Mary, Elizabeth, Frances, Anne and Margaret. He was the third oldest of the fourteen children.
